Hal Mahon has worked in the Bay Area construction industry for over 25 years and has been involved in virtually every facet of general contracting.
From the beginning Hal was struck by the power and the sense of accomplishment in building. It has been a lifelong passion
He began in the trades in the early 1980’s quickly working his way through the carpenter’s apprenticeship training program, working on numerous projects as a superintendant and for the past 17 years has been a very successful estimator and project manager with a leading Bay Area construction firm.
Now as a principal and senior project manager with Tashcon Corporation Hal brings his hands on perspective to the management table, providing a 360 degree view to projects, ensuring quality and cost effectiveness in a timely manner.
Experienced in Green Building (LEED certified), wood frame , concrete, masonry, structural steel, concrete tilt up, warehouse, tenant improvement, industrial, hi tech, biopharmaceutical, clean room, data centers, mid rise and auto dealerships. Hal brings talent and dedication to everything we build.
Carl Fortney, Project Manager
Carl Fortney brings his years of experience in construction and development both in the San Francisco Bay Area and nationally to service client's projects. His areas of expertise include: Parking structures, tilt-up buildings of all types, concrete, retail, development, entitlement and car dealerships.
Prior to joining Tashcon Carl Fortney worked as a Senior Project Manager for one of the largest car dealership contractors in the nation completing projects in CA, WA, TX and NV. As a principal of a large Bay Area concrete contractor for 14 years he constructed shopping centers, office buildings, warehouses, retail, parking structures and industrial projects. As a developer he entitled and managed mixed use projects throughout the Bay Area.
Carl holds a B.Sc. in Management from the University of Santa Clara, CA.
John Carlos, General Superintendent
John Carlos is a dynamo when it comes to getting the project done. He is the first one there in the morning and last one to leave at night. He has many years of experience on projects ranges from hotels to hospitals and every type of project in between. He has completed projects up to $200 million in size from Connecticut down to Florida and out west to Texas.
Prior to joining Tashcon Corporoation John Carlos was general superintendent for RJ Griffin and Suffolk Construction.
He holds a BA from Lady of Fatima College in Portugal and has played soccer against Pele.
Jed Phillips, VP of Legal and Corporate Counsel
Jed brings his years of experience in contract law, IP and an extensive litigation background to the Tashcon team. Jed is a graduate of the University of California, Hastings School of Law and has practiced in California and the District of Columbia providing counseling to multinational clients, securities compliance, IP licensing, litigation, arbitration and mediation and managing large legal projects for Fortune 500 technology firms and hedge funds.
Jed's breadth of national and international experience provides value to Tashcon and its clients in ensuring that all parties are protected against claims for liens, lawsuits, licensing disputes and environmental and other corporate compliance.
